Do I have to register by party in Georgia?
No. Georgia has an open primary system. On Primary Day, you will be asked your party preference, and that is the ballot that will be issued to you. If a voter chooses Democratic or Republican in the Presidential Preference Primary, the voter may choose to vote either party in the July Primary.

However, if Democratic is voted in the general primary, Democratic must be voted in the runoff. If Republican is voted in the general primary, Republican must be voted in the Runoff. If the voter did not vote in the general primary, the voter may choose any party in the Runoff.
