The Property & Evidence Unit is responsible for returning property and evidence that is no longer needed for court to the rightful owners as soon as possible. Any property that has not been picked up in a timely manner will be destroyed or disposed of as authorized by the courts and pursuant Georgia Law.
The individual picking up the property is required to claim the property in person and must be the rightful owner of the property.
The individual must present appropriate personal identification such as a CURRENT Georgia Driver’s License, State issued ID, Military ID, or US Passport.
Social Security Number is required and must be provided to conduct a Criminal Background Check for the purpose of releasing any firearms.
If possible please provide the case number associated when calling to inquire about your property.
If you received any paperwork or notification letters you will need to bring these with you at the time of your appointment.
