First Appearance Hearing
Video Conferencing is utilized for all First Appearance Hearings at the Paulding County Jail.
First Appearance Hearings are held every Monday at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at 10:00 AM, and Friday at 10:00 AM by a Magistrate judge via video conference. The presiding judge varies depending on the Magistrate Office’s calendar.
The First Appearance Hearing is an initial appearance for the defendant to be advised of the criminal charges that have been filed against them and to determine if a bond will be set. This is NOT a "formal" bond hearing.
Inmates will not be transported outside of the Paulding County Jail for their First Appearance Hearing. No one from the public will be allowed inside the secured area of the Jail to attend this hearing either.
If you wish to attend or participate in or watch the First Appearance Hearing of an inmate, please be at the Paulding County Courthouse in the Magistrate Courtroom on Monday at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at 10:00 AM, or Friday at 10:00 AM to observe it via video conference.
On holidays or in other circumstances where the Paulding County Courthouse is not open, the public can also go to the Paulding County Jail Visitation and Bonding Center which is located at 90 Constitution Boulevard Dallas, GA 30132 to view the First Appearance Hearing
