Duties
It is the duty of the County Board of Tax Assessors to assure that all personal property and all real property have been returned for taxation at the proper valuation.

The Impact of HB 386
The Georgia legislature recently made major changes regarding the taxation of motor vehicles.  Vehicles purchased on or after March 1, 2013 and titled in this state will be exempt from sales and use tax and the annual ad valorem tax.  Instead, these vehicles will be subject to a new, one-time tiltle ad valorem tax that is based on the value of the vehicle.

In addition, if you purchase and title a vehicle in Georgia between January 1, 2012 and March 1, 2013, you may be eligable to opt-in to the new title ad valorem tax.

All Motor Vehicle appeals are handled by the Board of Tax Assessors Office at 240 Constitution Blvd., Dallas, GA 30132.
