2017 County Road Asphalt Paving Project
Paulding County Department of Transportation advertised two (2) contracts for the 2017 county road paving projects.

Contract I:

On June 27, 2017, the Paulding County Board of Commissioners awarded to Baldwin Paving Company, Inc., the low bidder, in the amount of $3,636,410.10 for the 2017 Asphalt Project Contract I. This contract includes 13.96 miles of patching, leveling, shoulder widening and plant mix resurfacing on the following list of county roads:

              - Antioch Road                - Borrow Pit Road
              - Brooks Rackley Road     - Cheatham Road 
              - Frey Road                     - Hendrix Road
              - Hunter Road                 - Old Burnt Hickory Road          
              - Ivey Gulledge Road       - Picketts Mill Road
              - Seven Hills Boulevard    - Winndale Road 

Completion date for this contract is November 17, 2017.  

Funding for this contract is provided by FY 2017 GDOT LMIG of $1,652,674.89 and $1,983,735.21 paid by General Fund. 

Contract II:         
 
On August 22, 2017, the Paulding County Board of Commissioners awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Company, Inc., the low bidder, in the amount of $4,455,372.22 for the 2017 Asphalt Project Contract II. This contract includes 23.93 miles of milling, patching, leveling and plant mix resurfacing on 112 subdivision streets. Completion date for this contract is May 31, 2018. See below link for list of subdivisions.

- FY 18 GDOT LMIG = $1,789,393.14
- SPLOST = $2,000,000
- General Fund = $665,979.08                                  

2016 County Road Asphalt Paving Project
Paulding County Department of Transportation advertised four (4) contracts for the 2016 county road paving projects.

On August 23, 2016, the Paulding County Board of Commissioners awarded, to the low bidder, the four contacts to C.W. Matthews. The contracts details are as follows:

Contract I:
This contract consists of patching, leveling, plant mix resurfacing and striping on 11.29 miles on Ridge Road, Mein Mitchell Road and Bob Hunton Road. Due to high traffic volume during the daytime hours, all work performed on Ridge Road will be completed between the hours of 7PM and 6AM.

Four bids were received with the low bidder being C.W. Matthews in the amount of $2,493,775.20. Funding for this contract is provided by FY2016 GDOT LIMG is the amount of $1,257,397.10 with the balance of $1,236,378.10 paid by SPLOST.

Contract II:
This contract consists of patching, leveling, plant mix resurfacing and striping on 9.83 miles on Dabbs Bridge Road and High Shoals Road. Due to high traffic volume during the daytime hours, all work performed on Dabbs Bridge Road will be completed between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. 

Three bids were received with the low bidder being C.W. Matthews in the amount of $2,337,779.84. Funding for this contract is provided by SPLOST in the amount of $2,000,000, General Fund of $255,252.84 and $82,527.00 from Developer Contributions.

Contract III:
This contract consists of patching, leveling, plant mix resurfacing and striping on 6.41 miles on Paul Aiken Road, Cole Lake Road, Hart Road  and Holland Road. 

Three bids were received with the low bidder being C.W. Matthews in the amount of $1,456,763.10. Funding for this contract is provided by SPLOST in the amount of $763,621.90 and $693,141.20 paid by General Fund.  


Dallas Acworth Highway Bridge Projects
Paulding County Department of Transportation advertised the contract for the bridge construction and replacement of Picketts Mill Bridge and Possum Creek Bridge on Dallas Acworth Higway.

On December 13, 2016, Paulding County Board of Commissioners awarded this contract to the low bidder, Baldwin Paving Company, in the amount of $7,069,877.28.

The project consists of construction of replacement bridges on a partial new alignment, including roadway approaches, drainage improvements, street lighting and removal of existing bridges. Time frame for completion is 18 months.

Funding for this contract consists of $750,000 from the Georgia DOT (GDOT) with remaining balance of $6,319,877.28 paid by SPLOST.

Multi-Use Trail Connection from US 278 to the Silver Comet Trail
This project consists of the installation of a 8' wide multi-use trail connection along Bill Carruth Parkway, South of US 278 to the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge that will allow pedestrians to access the Silver Comet Trail.

This project is scheduled for construction in Summer 2017.
