Emergency 9-1-1

The H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit was organized in November 2008 under a grant from the Governors Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). The grant provides salaries for the Deputies and the funding for the patrol cars as well as all the equipment for the patrol cars and Deputies.

The H.E.A.T. Unit is designed to target aggressive drivers that speed, drive impaired, participate in road rage incidents, and commit other traffic violations. The H.E.A.T. Unit is designed to educate and enforce safety restraint usage for adults and children as well as traffic laws. Education and enforcement go hand in hand with the successful reduction in traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office was awarded the first grant in November of 2008.
