• Detention Officer- starting salary $25,640.15  
• Mandated Officer – starting salary $29,680.

• Medical Benefits are provided by United Health Care.
• Dental Benefits are provided by Guardian Dental.

• 1st year – 40 hours
• 2-4 years – 80 hours
• 5-9 years – 96 hours
• 10+ years - 120 hours 

10 paid holidays per year

8 hours monthly or 96 hours yearly

Vested after 5 years

After 86 hours in a biweekly period.

84 hours every two weeks. Shifts are 5:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Fitness Center is available to the officers 24 hours daily and is geared towards strength training.

DETENTION OFFICER duties are to provide safety for inmates and the facility.

In addition Paulding County Sheriff’s Office provides for detention officer:

• Total uniform apparel including boots and shoes
• O.C. Spray
• Handcuffs
• Extensive training for job proficiency.

MANDATED OFFICER duties are but not limited to patrolling the county, protecting the public, and enforcing the laws through arrest or other appropriate means.

In addition Paulding County Sheriff’s Office provides the following for patrol officers:

• Total uniform apparel to include boots and shoes
• Glock 40 caliber primary weapon
• Shotgun
• ASP Baton
• TASER
• Bulletproof vest
• Flashlight
• O.C. Spray
• Mobile data terminal
• Video/audio camera for patrol car
• Assigned portable units
• All uniform equipment provided
