The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Explorer program provides a community service organization for anyone between the ages of 14-21 interested in a law enforcement career and to allow young men and women to better understand the role of law enforcement in today's society. The Explorer Post also provides members with training and experience in leadership, teamwork and positive self-confidence. By identifying interested youth and exposing them to law enforcement, the Explorers Post is used to attract possible future deputies.
Meetings are held every Thursday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the
Paulding County Sheriff's Office Training Center. These meetings consist of both classroom learning and practical exercises that allows Explorers to work hand in hand with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
The explorers program relies mainly on donations and fundraisers to fund the program. The explorers have assisted the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office with events such as Law Enforcement Awareness Day, Trick or Treat Village, and other community events.
