Although assigned to the jail, the Inmate Work Detail officers are “external” to the jail and has 8 officers assigned that supervise the various work details about the county. The work detail carries out 1 road crew each day that picks up trash along county roads, 1 detail that picks up trash on state roads and a detail of female detainees. There are also inmates assigned to various county offices.

Only inmates that have nonviolent charges are allowed to work on these outside details. These inmates are usually county sentenced or incarcerated on probation violations.
