Responsibilities

This office is responsible for:
  • Receiving, updating, deleting, and maintaining voter registration applications, as well as keeping these records in a secure location
  • Coordinating with 158 counties in the State with reference to record entry
  • Interacting with Braswell, Dallas, and Hiram to provide elector’s lists for City elections and City jurisdiction
  • Purging records when requested by either voters or the State
  • Holding monthly Board of Elections meetings
    • Minutes are on file for review
  • Administering absentee voting 21 days prior to election date
  • Giving credit for voting to all voters that vote in elections
  • Maintaining street index, death records, moved out of county / state records, and felony records (voters convicted of a felony are removed from the elector’s list until the term of the sentence is completed, at which time the citizen must reapply)
  • Maintaining and providing Master and Elector’s Lists for the entire county
  • Obtaining voter counts monthly
  • Attending state-mandated training yearly
