PAULDING COUNTY MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM This web page is a new venture for the Paulding County Master Gardeners. It is a work in progress, so please visit often to view any changes. The Master Gardener Program is designed to develop highly skilled volunteers that agree to volunteer a minimum of 50 hours of service (during the first year) in exchange for 40 hours of horticultural training by Extension service professionals. A minimum of 25 hours of volunteer service is required each subsequent year to maintain Master Gardener status. Typical volunteer activities include:
Application Process Advertisement for the Paulding County Master Gardener Program will appear in The Dallas New Era during the month of October. Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview in December. Program participants will be selected based on their knowledge, experience, qualifications and abilities as noted on the applications. Please note a fee is required to participate in the training program. The fee pays for training materials, field trips, and a one-year membership in the Georgia Master Gardener Association. Training Program Training begins during the last week of January and concludes the first week of April. Sessions are typically held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Carroll County Agricultural Education Center. Once training has been completed and participants receive passing grades on the mid-term and final exams, participants will then be required to perform a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service.
