Paulding County Service
Tony Henderson grew up in Paulding County. He began his career at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in 1987 as a Jailer. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Patrol Deputy where he worked in the Uniform Patrol Division. In May of 1988, he graduated from Floyd Junior College Law Enforcement Academy. Tony then served in the Warrant/Civil Division from 1988 to 1992 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Tony returned to the Uniform Patrol Division in 1992 as a shift supervisor and was promoted to shift Captain in 1993. He became one of the first Field Training Officers (FTO) for the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 after becoming a State certified FTO. Tony successfully completed supervision training in Forsyth, GA and remained a shift supervisor until 1998. He has received training in many advanced law enforcement courses.
In 1998, Tony expanded his experience in to the civilian work force where he spent several years in the media industry as a Circulation Executive. During this time he attended numerous business and personnel management classes. Tony returned to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 and served as a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2010, Tony was promoted to the position of Division Commander and is now responsible for overseeing the Warrant/Civil Division in the execution of civil process orders as directed by the courts and the service of criminal warrants. In October of 2021, Tony was promoted to the rank of Major and still oversees the Warrant/Civil Division.
He loves to travel and spend as much time as possible with his family.
