On April 10, 2012 the Board of Commissioners adopted amendments to Chapter 6 of the Paulding County Code of Ordinances regarding Alcoholic Beverages. The effective date for the amended ordinance and fee schedule is July 1, 2012. The highpoints of the ordinance revisions are as follows:

Changes restaurant seating requirements from 70 seats with a monthly 60/40 split for food/alcohol sales to 50 seats with an annual average 50/50 split for food/alcohol sales.

Provides process and fee for permitting resident and non-resident alcohol caterers.

Provides process and fee for permitting retail consumption on premises licenses for hotels, brewpubs, private clubs, and special event facilities.

Includes license fee for wholesalers located outside Paulding County.

Creates alcohol license review board.

Reduces certain fees in half for applications received after June 30th.

As important as the items to change are the items not modified by the amendments. The major items to remain include the distance requirements for sales and rules prohibiting bars and nightclubs.
