On 5/9/2023, Paulding County Water responded to a call of an overflowing manhole outside of the Mill Creek Lift Station. A power failure at the station resulted in a high wet well and caused a lower elevation manhole to overflow. We received the call at 1:05 pm. The generator was turned on and the wet well began to pump down. The manhole stopped overflowing at 1:35 pm. A discharge of an estimated 25 gallons per minute totaling an estimated 750 gallons of untreated wastewater came out of the manhole onto the ground and into Mill Creek. A sign was placed at the creek and lime was applied to the site.
