[ARCHIVED] SSO Summary 91 Boxelder Court

On 1/14/2023 a homeowner called our emergency dispatch line and reported an overflowing manhole at 91 Boxelder Court. Our Collection crews were dispatched, arriving on scene at 5:03 p.m. and located the manhole. The lid of the manhole had been removed and sticks and branches were jammed into the top of the manhole. Collection crews pulled branches out of the vandalized manhole and worked to remove the remainder of the blockage and accumulated debris that caused the overflow.  The manhole was cleared and the main was flowing freely again by 6:12 p.m.  The flow from the manhole was estimated at 20 gallons per minute for 69 minutes for a total of 1380 gallons of sewer released from the manhole which flowed on the ground entering a tributary to Little Pumpkinvine Creek.  A complete inspection of the area was conducted, lime was applied and the area was left free of debris.
