Paulding County staff responded to a contractor calling about an overflow manhole. An overflow was observed at 9:30 a.m. on 11/21/22 at a manhole across from 192 Peach Crossing Drive. A pump truck was called in to pump down the manhole to stop the overflow. Water Department staff found large rocks up to 2 feet in length dumped into the manhole. The rocks were removed from the manhole and the main was flushed to remove additional stone and debris. Manhole lids were replaced on the blocked manhole and downstream manhole. Approximately 300 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled onto the ground and into a tributary of Possum Creek. Lime has been applied at the site and signs have been placed at the creek.
