A spill coming from a damaged manhole in a wooded area behind a residence on Picketts Trace was located on 7/28/22 at 3:48 p.m. The top section of a manhole had been removed resulting in soils and other materials entering the manhole and clogging the 8-inch gravity sewer. Bypass pumping was set up and stopped the overflow at 10:47 p.m. Approximately 4100 gallons of untreated wastewater exited the manhole spilled onto the ground and into an unnamed tributary to Westbrook Creek. Work is ongoing to clear the blockage, reinstall the cone section of the manhole, restore and lime the surrounding area, and place signs at the access to the creek.
