A maintenance crew discovered a blown out temporary discharge line at the Due West Pump Station on 7/12/2022 at 9:00 a.m. The line was immediately isolated, stopping the overflow. Approximately 15 gallons per minute of untreated wastewater went onto the ground and into Possum Creek. From the visual appearance at the site, the spill was estimated to be leaking two hours prior to the crew's arrival for a total flow of 1,800 gallons. The line was replaced, signs were placed at the access to the creek and lime was applied to stabilize the area.
