At 10:30 a.m. on November 23, 2021 Paulding County crews were investigating an overflowing manhole complaint and discovered a surging manhole at 115 Hunt Creek Drive in the Bentwater subdivision. It is estimated that 600 gallons of sewer came out of the manhole and went into the storm drain. The main was cleared of tree roots and the pump was slowed down to stop the overflow by 12:30 p.m. The manhole that surged and pipe downstream will be replaced to prevent further issues with root intrusion. Lime will be applied to affected soil and signs will be placed at the creek.
