The Records Division is composed of civilian employees; these individuals perform all tasks related to the implementation, maintenance, and support of records within the agency. There are a variety of tasks that this division is responsible for maintaining:
The Records division, located at the Paulding County Sheriff's Office is charged with the responsibility of maintaining arrest and incarceration records, fingerprints, photographs and court documents for inmates housed in the Paulding County Jail. The division also handles dissemination of record data, photographs, and patrol videos mandated by the State of Georgia.
This section of the Sheriff's Office handles all requests for information under the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A.50-18-70) and other legal statutes which provide for access to publicly maintained information. The section coordinates all legal documents involving the agency. The Records Division will have case reports available for the public to access in 3 to 5 business days. There are certain laws by the State of Georgia that will inhibit the release of certain case reports due to certain statutes of the State of Georgia.
