The Paulding County Board of Elections & Voter Registration is a county board that was created by an act of legislation by the Georgia General Assembly. The Board is made up of 5 appointed members. The Election Director, who is not a member of the Board, informs the Board of the day to day operation of the Elections Office and communicates important information handed down from the Georgia Secretary of State. Three members are appointed by the Paulding County Board of Commissioners, of which two must be representatives of the recognized political parties. The Board of Commissioners appoints the Board Chair. The Constitutional Officers appoint one member and the Paulding County Legislative Delegation appoints one member. Each member serves a four year term. There is no limit on terms and the terms are staggered. Jayson Phillips serves as the Board Attorney. The Board is funded by the taxpayers of Paulding County through the County budget.
